Embrace The Advantages
Hassle-Free Cold Therapy
Set your ideal temperature, relax, and let the chiller maintain a consistent, perfectly chilled plunge anytime you need it.
Lower Maintenance
Cold water naturally inhibits bacterial growth, reducing the frequency of water changes and cleaning. Spend less time on upkeep and more time benefiting from your cold therapy.
Enhanced Recovery Time
With the Penguin Chillers Cold Therapy Chiller, prioritize what matters most—maximizing your recovery and overall wellness.
8 Benefits of Cold Water Therapy
Cold water therapy helps to decrease muscle soreness and inflammation, making it ideal for athletes and fitness enthusiasts to accelerate recovery after intense workouts or injury.
Exposure to cold water boosts blood circulation, prompting blood vessels to constrict and then expand. This enhances oxygen delivery to vital organs and aids in toxin removal.
Cold water immersion can strengthen the immune system by increasing the production of white blood cells, helping the body fight off illness more effectively.
Cold exposure activates brown fat in the body, which helps burn calories and maintain core temperature. This can support weight management and boost overall metabolic activity.
Cold water therapy triggers the release of endorphins and reduces cortisol levels, helping to relieve stress, improve mood, and sharpen mental clarity.
Cold plunging has been linked to better sleep, as it helps regulate the nervous system and promote relaxation, contributing to more restful and deeper sleep patterns.
Cold water can tighten the skin, reduce pore size, and promote a healthier complexion. It can also strengthen hair follicles, leading to stronger, shinier hair.
The shock of cold water releases endorphins, reducing stress and promoting a sense of well-being.
Say Goodbye To
Endless trips to buy and replenish ice, interrupting your recovery process.
Fluctuating water temperatures that diminish the impact of your cold therapy.
Wasting time and energy managing ice, detracting from the full benefits of your cold therapy sessions.
CUSTOMER REVIEWS
"Absolutely awesome! I live in Las Vegas and plunging in the summer was problematic with my Ice Barrel. The chiller holds it at a steady 55 degrees and it’s June, when our average outside temperature is around 104. It is truly plug and play. It took me about 15 minutes to get it up and running. It’s pretty quiet, and cleaning the filters is easy. I also bought the insulation wrap as my barrel isn’t insulated. I am super impressed with both items! Highly recommend!"

"I had the Ice Barrel Chiller for over a year and I’d recommend it to anyone. I live in Austin TX where the summers are consistently in the 90s and I was able to keep the water temp around 48 degrees by preference."
- Donald D.
"Best cold plunge chiller on the market, period! I keep my cold plunge outside and this is the ONLY chiller on the market I feel comfortable leaving outside, and it keeps a constant temp perfectly! 5 Stars Cold Therapy Chiller."
- Michael
"Undoubtedly, the Penguin Chiller is the premier solution for cold plunge applications. One of its most commendable features is the integrated pump, which seamlessly connects to the filtration system. The exceptional craftsmanship is immediately evident upon unboxing, attesting to the product’s superior quality. A big selling point for me was that it is made in America! "

Frequently Asked Questions
- Cold Therapy Chillers: These can be used both indoors and outdoors, except in
freezing weather.
- Standard Water Chillers: Not designed for outdoor use.
- Commercial Chillers: All except the Commercial Water Chiller are suitable for outdoor use in any weather
Although the temperature range of standard water chillers might work for some cold therapy uses, we generally don’t recommend it because:
- Durability: Standard chillers aren’t built for outdoor use and could get damaged in cold therapy environments.
- No Built-in Pump: Unlike Cold Therapy Chillers, standard water chillers don’t come with integrated pumps.
A Better Cold Therapy Option: We suggest using a Cold Therapy Chiller because it’s:
- Made for Cold Therapy: Specifically designed for outdoor use, except in freezing temperatures.
- Built-in Pump: Ensures proper water circulation for effective cold therapy.
- Clean the Filter Regularly: Clean your filter once a week to keep water flowing properly and avoid ice buildup.
- Maintain Water Levels: Make sure the water level is always where it should be for optimal performance.
- Don’t Run It Dry: Never operate the chiller without enough water, as it can damage the internal components.
Check and clean your filter once a week. Even if it looks clean, small debris can block water flow to the heat exchanger.
If water flow gets restricted, it can cause ice to form in the heat exchanger, which can crack and lead to damage. Regular cleaning ensures your chiller runs smoothly and efficiently.
Only the Cold Therapy Chiller has a built-in pump.
- Water Chillers: We suggest pumps rated between 500 and 1,800 gph to maintain a flow rate of at least 250 gph. Submersible pumps are common for their simplicity.
- Glycol Chillers: These might require specific pumps based on space and system
requirements. - Commercial Chillers: A flow rate of 1,200 to 2,500 gph is recommended, but it can varydepending on the system.
It depends on a few factors:
- Water Chillers: We recommend not running them below 37°F continuously. In tests, 36°F was achieved with 5 gallons of water.
- Glycol Chillers: The lowest safe operating temperature is about 5°F, but in testing,
we’ve reached as low as -15°F.
- Water Chillers: No, they hold less than half a gallon of water in their internal piping.
- Glycol Chillers: These come with tanks ranging from 1.25 to 30 gallons depending on the model.
Most customers find our chillers quieter than expected. You can find specific sound ratings on each product page.
Chillers remove heat from the liquid and release it into the air. The amount of heat depends on how much is being removed from the liquid, so proper ventilation is essential.
Yes, ventilation is necessary to let heat escape and ensure your chiller runs efficiently. Without proper airflow, performance will suffer.
No, Penguin Chillers are designed solely for cooling, not heating.
